Could this be the end of UGGs and Crocs? I hope so. Janina offers an alternative

Can't keep this to myself any longer!!! Janina Alleyne look out for her. Her “Exoskeleton” shoe collection was breathtaking, a highlight of Graduate Fashion Week.
Not since McQueen’s Armadillo shoes have I been so mesmerized by footwear. Shock....at their beauty and architectural structure. While Alexander's was mind blowing, (more for the models risking death on the runway, or at least broken ankles) Janina's looked fairly wearable, (more the one below, for me at least.)

Maybe not shoes for dog walking but accessorized with a gown at the Met? A most definite YES.

Wearable. Wonderful. WANTABLE.

Quick flight back to London to witness the talent of tomorrow, Graduate Fashion Week.

I was  lucky enough to get tickets to watch the Edinburgh College of Art fashion show.
Truly inspiring.

One of the highlights was Jacob Birge.  A visual display of escapism. Futurism/armour/Sci-fi. I couldn’t help but think of McQueen’s Aliens of S/S 2010. While his was about aquatic, underwater creatures Jacob focused on dark, structured minimalism. A modern approach to armory, beautifully constructed.
I can imagine Daphne Guinness rocking this look perfectly.

But who could forget EVA NG……what a perfect name to start with!
Her collection balanced the art of tailoring with drape and the results were stunning. A modern Roland Mouret mixed with the sexy aesthetic of Gucci. A name to remember and look out for.

But which designer would I buy from now? That would have to be Lyndsay McNeill. More like watching London or New York Fashion Week than Graduate. Her collection focused on soft relaxed tailoring. A modern working womans wardrobe. Think Chloe with a hint of Paul Smith.
Wearable. Wonderful. WANTABLE.

(…..Lyndsay? If you ever read this I want to pre order the white/cream coat. No words!)

Heat Chic

Off to the South of France….here is a little inspiration to look ‘Chic in the heat’.
For a girly who is too fond of black the challenge is to add colour.

Runway Girly says {SORRY}

Hello there world. Sorry for the HUGE gap in posts. Truly no excuse can be good enough. My only justification is that I have been literally working not stop on uni finals…..but now I can return to pure fashion indulgence.

I feel I left you all far too long…and for that I am sorry.

As a welcome back I’ve decided to share some inspiration. This is taken from a previous Epsom degree student.  Truly fantastic isn't it?

I have much to share…so stay tuned! Shopping trips, holidays and Graduate Fashion Week to come.

Sartorial Romance

I'm probably sure my sister has told you about The Sartorialist as we're both big fans. I love this picture of 'what makes true love,' which was captured on Instagram. Scott did this picture for Tiffany & Co and you can also upload your images of what makes true love on their website.

Bird Song

I forgot to show you one particularly special ring. The bird ring. Hannah bought me this bird shaped ring for Christmas from 'Whistles.' I love the simplicity of it.

A bit of an obsession

My sister is not the only one with an obsession for jewellery. I have to admit that this obsession may stem from me (being the older sister). I have been collecting rings for years- collecting bits and pieces on my travels.

I love stacking my rings. The rings above are my favourite to stack and probably mean the most to me. My sister always tries to steal my Mikimoto (pearl) ring as it is one of her faves. The 'Love' ring was designed by my boyfriend who melted down an old necklace to make it. So it feels quite organic. He put a diamond on the 'o' and he had a diamond inserted on the inside of the ring too, which makes it quite special. He also gave me the other diamond ring.

You may remember this purse from previous blog posts of Hannah's. Hannah helped create this purse when she did some work experience for Topshop. I think they work well as a jewellery 'box' and I love that I can have my initial on it.I've always collected pendants and put them on a long gold chain. I put rings on it, attach lockets and things found in my grandma's jewellery box. This is a new fave which I have added to my collection and they are from Topshop. I love spikes- so I was thrilled when I spotted these.
You may have seen this ring many times on Hannah's post as Hannah has the same ring. This is my 'show-stopper' piece and I have had numerous comments on it. I love how chunky this ring is. I must admit Hannah was the one who found this so full marks to her.

Introducing Guest Sister Blogger Sophie

Whilst my dear sister is slogging away on her final year dissertation I have decided to hi-jack her blog. The poor thing has been neglected for too long that I thought something must be done.

Bit of Bling.....

Ok as I posted yesterday I went to the new Westfield Stratford. What I left out….I went to Forever 21!!!

Ok let me tell you. The accessories department? Insane amazing. I kind of wanted every necklace. Here are TWO I bought in a bid to channel a little Tom Binns, at an affordable price. THANKS F21!

Thoughts?

p.s. I do think bling and my new ZARA leopard blouse was a bit much. I’m thinking a toned down black dress next time.

But hey I was feeling a bit Rachel Zoe at the time. Forgive me!

Thoughts?

I’d resisted the temptation too long. So a few days ago I paid a little visit to the new WESTFIELD STRATFORD……no words. Ladies, (& possibly gentlemen) if you have not been then I urge you to make that trip, go East…..if for no other reason than to try out THE TWITTER MIRROR! Yeap, you heard me correctly. Head to River Island….

I was trying on one of the many fabulous trends, 70’s eclectic bohemian…..can’t decide whether I’m a convert to this new midi length.

Although... I can’t resist a bit of faux fur. Loves it.

Thoughts?

My shopping outfit. Still obsessed with my aviator.

Wanna be a supermodel? Really?

Just look at these feet. They belong to a 20 year old model. What does this? Month long runways, this is a pic from Louis Vuitton, the last stretch before the end of S/S’12.

OUCH! Time to grab some flats girl.
